Justfog Q16 Pro Plus review after weeks as a daily kit

No screen, no menu, no wattage to fine-tune. The Justfog Q16 Pro Plus belongs to the class of devices that shop staff recommend without a second thought, and that nobody really tests over time. We used it for several weeks as our only device, with both supplied coils, to find out what four power levels and nothing else are really worth.

Does the Justfog Q16 Pro Plus deliver day to day

Yes, on its own ground. The set pairs a 1500 mAh built-in battery with a 3 ml tank, for a maximum output of 16 W spread over four levels, with USB-C charging, according to the retailer specification we worked from.

That restraint is the whole point. There is nothing to adjust beyond picking one level out of four and opening the airflow at the base. The trade-off is that you cannot fine-tune the power, and the device sets its own limits. For mouth-to-lung vaping, those limits happen to be the right ones.

British buyers should note one figure in particular. Under the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016, a tank used with nicotine e-liquid is capped at 2 ml in the UK, so the 3 ml figure describes the specification we reviewed. The capacity printed on the box of any version you are offered is the one that counts.

Who this kit is really made for

The tube format and the lack of fine adjustment draw a very clear user profile. Three cases come up in shops, and only one of them is a poor fit.

The vaper who wants a one-button device

This is the obvious target. Five clicks switch it on, a press fires it and three clicks change the level. The learning curve is measured in minutes.

The vaper looking for a reliable second device

Its compact size and USB-C charging make it a credible backup, the one that stays in the bag for the day the main battery gives up.

The vaper who wants to control power to the watt

This profile should look elsewhere. Four steps are comfortable but coarse, and the device never shows the exact value it is delivering.

It works on a fixed voltage per step rather than on regulated wattage. The real output therefore varies with the coil fitted, which explains why the same step does not feel the same with the 1.2 ohm coil and the 1.6 ohm coil. This detail, rarely explained, heads off most disappointments at the first coil change.

What genuinely works over time

Three points stand out after several weeks, and none of them sits at the top of the product listings. They only reveal themselves through repeated use.

Two coils in the box, two uses covered

The kit comes with a 1.2 ohm coil and a 1.6 ohm coil. The first gives a warmer, slightly more open vape, the second a tighter draw and lower consumption. Having both from day one saves a trip back to the shop to find your setting.

A side fill that forgives

Liquid goes in through an opening on the side, without removing the top section. The gesture is less elegant than a top fill, but it removes the classic risk of pouring straight into the central chimney.

Battery life that lasts the day

With 1500 mAh on a device capped at 16 W, most mouth-to-lung users get through a full day. USB-C charging brings back most of the battery over a lunch break.

What starts to grate after a few weeks

None of these faults rules the kit out, but all of them end up showing. Here the Justfog Q16 Pro Plus pays for its deliberately minimal design.

Condensation under the battery

A tight draw and a vertical format encourage a film of liquid to build up around the thread. A wipe with kitchen paper once a week, battery unscrewed, deals with it and stops the contact from oxidising.

No precise charge reading

Four LEDs give an idea of the remaining level, not a percentage. You end up recharging out of caution rather than need, which does nothing for the longevity of the battery.

A draw set by the base ring alone

Airflow is adjusted only at the base, over a short range. Past the most open step, the device stays in tight-draw territory, with no way of going any further.

It is less a fault in itself than a framework. It becomes a nuisance on the day you want to try something else, and it then forces a change of device rather than a change of setting.

A tank that is hard to find on its own

The 130.1 mm overall height and the 510 thread in theory let you swap the top section. In practice, the Q16 Pro Plus tank is harder to find on its own than the full kit, at least in the shops we follow.

Our Justfog Q16 Pro Plus verdict, 16 out of 20

The breakdown from our in-house grid reads endurance 4 out of 5 (30%), flavour 4 out of 5 (25%), handling 4 out of 5 (15%), leak resistance 3 out of 5 (15%) and perceived value 5 out of 5 (15%). No criterion collapses and none soars, which sums the device up rather well.

It earns a place in the drawer. The heaviest criterion is perceived value, given how few compromises the set makes for its positioning. Those who want more control over power will turn to a compact box mod with a replaceable battery, at the cost of a longer learning curve.

Frequently asked questions

Five questions we hear regularly, on points we have not dealt with so far.

Can you vape while it charges?

It is not recommended, even when the electronics allow it. Better to wait for the end of the charging cycle.

Which vegetable glycerine ratio works best?

Very thick liquids struggle to feed coils of this resistance. A liquid with propylene glycol as the larger share suits it better.

How do you know a coil is finished?

The taste turns dry and slightly burnt before the vapour even drops. That is the signal not to ignore.

Is the drip tip replaceable?

Yes, the 510 format accepts standard drip tips, which lets you change the feel in the mouth without spending much.

Should you prime a new coil?

Always. Put a few drops on the visible cotton, then wait five to ten minutes with a full tank.

What to remember about the Justfog Q16 Pro Plus

After extended use, this kit never surprises, and that is exactly what you ask of it. It delivers a steady mouth-to-lung vape, recharges quickly, cleans in thirty seconds and never calls for a technical decision. Its main blind spot remains the availability of spare parts, so check with your retailer before committing to the Justfog Q16 Pro Plus for the long haul.

Adults only. Nicotine is a highly addictive substance and UK law bars the sale of vaping products to under-18s. This long-term test is editorial content and should not be read as a buying recommendation.
