On a mod you control from your phone, the real questions start once the box is open. The Lost Vape Centaurus BT200 pairs a 200 W dual battery mod with the Centaurus app and the Sub Ohm V2 tank, and its spec sheets all look alike. The comments buyers leave under those listings tell a different story, from a phone that will not connect to a top cap that refuses to open and a mod that keeps shutting down. Before scoring it, each of them had to be read.

Lost Vape Centaurus BT200 review, the short answer

Yes, this kit can suit adult vapers who already vape direct lung and are happy to manage two batteries. The Lost Vape Centaurus BT200 covers 5 to 200 W, seven modes and a 2.4 inch screen, and buyers mostly praise its build. Its weak points have less to do with the hardware than with getting to grips with it, app included.

One point needs saying up front, this kit has not been through our hands. This review cross-checks the Lost Vape page, the listings of four French and British retailers, and the reviews and questions their customers have posted. Its score of 14.1 out of 20 should therefore be read as a synthesis, not as a hands-on verdict.

What buyers of the Centaurus BT200 praise

Rated reviews are still scarce. The fullest set comes from a British retailer, with an average of 4.6 out of 5 from ten ratings and three visible comments, all at 5 out of 5, while a French listing carries a single rated review.

Build quality comes first. One buyer describes a solid device with no rattle, another singles out the battery bay at the back, closed by a magnetic plate that comes off without tools. The weight goes down well too, with 305 g quoted once the mod is fitted with another tank.

The dual battery layout and the screen also win praise. A third comment rates the Centaurus Sub Ohm V2 tank above the first version and likes controlling the mod from a phone, right down to uploading a wallpaper. The Lost Vape launch announcement mentions five interface themes and six customisable wallpaper slots.

Three snags buyers report with the Centaurus BT200

The questions posted under retailer listings paint a less polished picture than the reviews. Three difficulties keep coming back, and none of them points to a proven fault, which makes them avoidable for anyone who knows about them.

Bluetooth pairing and the Centaurus app

The only rated review on one French listing, a 5 out of 5, fits in one sentence that praises the device while admitting the buyer cannot get it to connect. That listing also carries a question on that very point. The published answer sets out the order to follow, install the app, switch on the phone’s Bluetooth, turn on the mod, then pair it from the app.

On iPhone, the problem runs deeper. The manufacturer’s page still mentions the App Store, but one retailer listing states that the app is now only offered for Android devices. If you vape with an iPhone, check this before buying a mod whose app is its main selling point.

The Sub Ohm V2 top cap that will not open

Lost Vape describes top filling protected by a safety lock. That lock catches people out, since a question posted under one listing reports a top cap that simply will not open. The published answer gives the movement, a quarter turn anticlockwise before pushing.

None of the spec sheets checked spells out this step, as they only call the top cap “secure”. It still accounts for part of the feedback, because a locked cap quickly looks like a defect when you do not know the trick.

A mod that stops charging or cuts out

One buyer reports a mod that no longer charges and switches off almost straight away. The published reply blames old or mismatched batteries, and advises two matched 18650 cells less than 18 months old, clean contacts and an external charger, with USB-C charging kept for emergencies.

Lost Vape does not supply the batteries, and its page lists internal charging at 5 V and 2 A. For vaping between 40 and 60 W, the same shop recommends 3000 mAh cells able to deliver 20 A continuously.

Lost Vape Centaurus BT200 specs, the gaps worth checking

From one listing to the next, several figures change, and some of them concern what actually arrives in the box. The table below sets the Lost Vape page against retailer listings.

Capacity matters most here. Under the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016, refillable tanks sold in the UK are limited to 2 ml, and nicotine e-liquid to 20 mg/ml in bottles of no more than 10 ml. The TPD version of the kit, with a 2 ml tank and a 2 ml spare glass, is the one built for that rule, while 5 ml figures describe the international version.

For coils, the reference printed on the box is the safest guide. The 0.15 ohm, billed for very dense vapour, runs above 80 W, whereas the 0.3 ohm, rated for 40 to 60 W, gives a slightly tighter draw, as one shop explains. A top airflow tank, designed to limit leaks according to Lost Vape, rounds off the set.

Who the Centaurus BT200 kit suits

This kit is aimed first at adult vapers who are already comfortable with a mod running on external batteries. Choosing your 18650 cells, matching them and replacing them in time is part of owning it, and one of the published replies is a reminder that this step weighs on reliability.

For anyone who likes to tweak, the mod is well equipped, with power, voltage, three temperature control modes and a custom power curve (VPC), according to two retailers. Mouth to lung vapers will be better served elsewhere, as the supplied tank is built for direct lung vaping. For the same external battery logic in a simpler format, our iStick Pico review remains a useful comparison.

Our summary score for the Lost Vape Centaurus BT200, 14.1 out of 20

This score does not come from a test session. It runs what the manufacturer’s page, the retailer listings and buyer feedback say through our in-house scale, which gives battery life 4 out of 5 (30 per cent), flavour 3 out of 5 (25 per cent), handling 3 out of 5 (15 per cent), leak resistance 3.5 out of 5 (15 per cent) and availability of consumables 4 out of 5 (15 per cent).

Battery life benefits from the dual cell layout but depends entirely on the 18650s you choose. Flavour stays cautious for lack of a published test that describes it, beyond one buyer who prefers the Sub Ohm V2 to the first version. Handling loses points over the app and the cap lock, leak resistance benefits from the top airflow, and UB Max coils are easy to find, as are the 510 thread tanks the mod accepts, such as a tank from the Zeus range.

FAQ

These questions pick up the ones still left open under Centaurus BT200 listings and do not overlap with the points covered above.

Which drip tip does the kit tank take?

Two retailers give an 810 drip tip for the Centaurus Sub Ohm V2, with a 510 connection on the mod side. An 810 drip tip from another brand can therefore replace the original one.

What is the second glass tube in the box for?

Lost Vape adds a spare glass to every kit. In the international version, this 3 ml straight glass replaces the 5 ml bubble glass, while in the TPD version, built for the 2 ml limit, both the tank and the spare hold 2 ml.

Do the temperature modes work with UB Max coils?

One retailer listing reserves the titanium, nickel and SS316 stainless steel modes, adjustable from 100 to 315 °C, for rebuildable atomisers. The supplied UB Max coils are therefore used in power mode, within the range printed on their box.

Can you vape mouth to lung with this kit?

Not with the supplied tank. Two retailers class the kit as direct lung, and even the 0.3 ohm coil remains a sub-ohm coil. For a tighter draw, you need to fit another 510 thread atomiser to the mod.

Can the mod be locked for travel?

Yes. Two retailers describe a locking slider that prevents accidental firing in a pocket or bag, and one of them places it just above the USB-C port.

What to know before buying a Lost Vape Centaurus BT200

Buyers like its build and its dual battery layout, and their difficulties mostly come from steps the listings do not spell out. Before buying, three checks are enough, a phone that runs the app, the 2 ml TPD version and two matched 18650 cells. With those precautions taken, the Lost Vape Centaurus BT200 joins the adjustable devices this site keeps following, such as the Vaporesso Swag and its three generations, review after review.
